Celebrate The Champions

On 24th September 2007, India won the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 2007. Two days later, a glorious welcome was rightfully in order for MS Dhoni and his boys. Mumbai, the city that never stops, came to a standstill when the men wearing India colours landed on its shores.

Thousands braved heavy rains, children skipped school, and young girls giggled while lining the streets for their idols. Adults were unhesitant about shutting shop and getting out of work. It was a larger than life occurrence for these Team India adorers - nothing else mattered on this day. They waited and didn't leave disappointed.

The victorious team stood atop an open-air bus dancing to the music and waving to their fans. These were moments to be savoured. On their homecoming, Team India's 'Generation Next' appeared in front of a capacity crowd for a victory lap at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. A fitting reception indeed!
