R. Kaushik: Cricket herald

They are supposed to be coldly objective up there in the press boxes. Their job is to just report and give news. They are not supposed to take sides while covering cricket. But then, cricket journalists are human beings too.

It is difficult to remain calm when India clash with Pakistan on the cricket field, even for the hardened, experienced lot. When things get tight, when passions are running hot and the adrenalin pumping out there, sledging takes place in the press box as well.

R. Kaushik of The Deccan Herald in Bangalore has been following the Indian cricket team all over the world for more than ten years now. I spoke to him about the pressures of covering India-Pakistan cricket.
